Grawell's proactive stance on VoIP fraud protection
I am very pleased to see an email from Gradwell today providing important information regarding fraud protection and the steps that are being taken to protect us all at system level. Having recently been the victim of a hacked system I know how important it is that we protect ourselves, but I had felt that Gradwell as service provider could also do more to be proactive in improving their systems and warning their customers of specific threats so I am very pleased that this is a positive step. I think these notices could go further by also reminding customers to upgrade the firmware on their equipment on a regular basis as this simple step would have prevented the incident that affected our system. From a PR point of view I'm sure they don't want to scare us about the risks, but I think frequent tips and reminders by email are always useful to catch the attention of the users that don't spend much time following news on the portal. Please keep it up!

Hey David,
Thank you for your comments here. In addition to the recent fraud prevention improvements, we've also just this afternoon rolled out a new security updates section of our knowledgebase, which we will use to keep customers informed of vulnerabilities we are made aware of in common products used by our customers.
You can find the knowledgebase section here: http://www.gradwell.com/support/kb/ca... alternatively you can subscribe to the RSS feed at: feed://www.gradwell.com/support/kb/rss.php?i...
We're continuing to work to protect our customers from fraud and will expand the security update notification options in the coming months. -

How about a whitelist of IP addresses per account/extension to prevent unauthorised access?
P.S. after three months... how's that scanner coming along? -
