Auto-delete voicemails when read in email
Auto-delete voicemail when listened to in email by using a return receipt, with a service monitoring incoming email and then deleting the relevant voicemail. I've used this to great effect in the past with Asterisk based systems.

Hi,
Thanks for all the comments and votes guys. The purpose of the get satisfaction system is for us to find out what would be popular enhancements.
(This is why we don't jump up and down in these discussions - it's for customers to tell us what they want.)
We then bring these into our internal software development process, firstly by producing a user story, understanding the priority, impact, etc.
I have set the process in motion for this enhancement. I am sorry I can't make it happen immediately - we don't run a stock asterisk system and as you might imagine we have more people asking for features than we have developers.
But we hear very loud and clearly that this is an important feature, and it is great that this system has been used effectively.
cheers

I'd be happy with Barnaby's suggestion, but would prefer a rolling deletion that keeps the newest n messages for the odd occasion where I might need access to voicemail via the Control Panel.
At the very least, please can we have email notification that the Voicemail box is near capacity? At the moment when it reaches 100 messages callers get a mailbox full message, but users are not informed.
Thanks!

I would like something similar, but even simpler - the option to automatically delete all voicemail as soon as it is sent on by email. I NEVER log in to listen to it, and all that happens is that my voicemail allocation fills up and it silently becomes disabled.

Yes, we've had this problem where customers are being directed to a "Mailbox full" message, and we're not aware about it for days on end.
We NEVER log in to listen to messages (Why would we if they've been emailed? :) )
"Do not archive messages" would do. -
-
Please? Pretty please?
I've just been caught out by this again! -

'Just had the mail box full issue. A warning that the capacity was being reached or some form of auto-deletion would have been helpful.

Two suggestions
a.Why not have the option of email only of VM with no storage.
b. Voicemails get deleted after 1month similar to recorded calls
c. Mailbox full warning email -
-
Is there any progress on this? We have just run into the same problem.

I would say that this is really overdue, and it's time to deliver.
Come on, Peter! Do you need a hand to implement this? Give me a call.
To Gradwell's excuse, the email notification you get has a link to click to delete the message from your voicemail archive, so it's all of you being lazy. -
-
. . . and we could just pick up the phone then we wouldn't need voicemail anyway!
I'm not sure that anyone from Gradwell actually reads this stuff. -
-
The following topic makes essentially the same point: http://gsfn.us/t/1c0ab
Even without the votes from that one, this 'idea' is the most popular - come on Gradwell, what are you waiting for? (Unless of course nobody does read this stuff!) -

Is there any way we can be notified when the voice mail is full? This is creating a very significant problem as it fills up to 100 messages and then stops working. The only way I am alerted to this is when a customer rings and tells me this. This is not acceptable.
Either, send me a notification when the voice mail is nearly full so I can clear it. Better still automatically purge the mailbox automatically, I have no need for this as all the messages are emailed to me anyway.
Best regards

OK, just got caught by this yet again. Without making any major changes would it not be possible to send a "message box full" email? You have a routine to send emails when a message is received, and you have a hook that knows when the mailbox is full . . .
